My dog Misty

I used to have a dog named Misty. My mom and dad got her about two years before I was born. She was my dad's dog but they got her because my mom wanted to keep her. About a year ago we had to put her down because she couldn't get around the house very well. She was also deaf. When my dad took her to the vet to put her down they said that she had cancer and that it was the right time to put her down. Misty lived to be fourteen years old.
Misty was a Siberian Husky. She was black and white with blue eyes. Every time someone came to the door, if she was in the backyard she would stand still as if she was frozen, drop her head down almost touching the ground, and look right into their eyes. If they looked like they would be a threat she would show her teeth and growl at them. People soon got scared to come to our house. When we are at the front door with it opened she would sneak up behind us and when were not paying attention to if she was behind us or not she will run out the door. Misty was a very sneaky dog. She hates thunder and whenever there was a storm she would stay beside my dad and follow him everywhere. One night we had a storm and my dad wasn’t there so Misty stayed beside me the whole time. I was her second favorite person. She loved running around in the backyard especially when it was cold and she loved car rides.
The day when my dad went to get her put down came and we were all depressed the whole day. I was upset for about two weeks. Misty got to have her last car ride that day and was really happy. She licked my dads face almost the whole ride. We all loved her so much and she was my favorite dog. I will always remember her and after having her as a dog, Siberian Huskies are my favorite breed of dog.

  1. This is such a sad story. I love Siberian Huskies also because they are so cute. Almost all dogs also hate thunder just so you know.

  2. Awesome post....even though it made me sad. But that's what you wanted, right? The way you organized this piece really made that happen. Starting with when you put your dog to sleep and then moving backward to what you enjoyed about her when she was alive....then, again, moving back to putting her to sleep. Really effective writing....really sad story. It's tough to loose a pet :(
